How does one search for and find old topics / threads.
There was a topic within the last few weeks where someone mentioned an alternative to itunes. I can't figure out how to find it. HELP PLEASE!!

Thanks
Finster

Another alternative is to use Google search to find it by using a string like this:

"whatever you're searching for" forum site:archive.org

just put something along the lines of what you're searching for in the quotes such as "iTunes" or "favorite Althea" and there you go

I second this; google is the fastest route to almost anything.

yeah, it's funny how well that works...years ago I discovered that when trying to answer some obscure question posed here: the first few listings would often be the thread itself!?

It was for "sharepod". I actually like it. It does not (with my limited experience with it) organize songs as well as itunes, but when you backup it saves under the origional name-not a number that you can't decipher.

The simplest first attempt would be to use the search box at top of the page – enter itunes in first box and forums in second box:

http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=forumPost%3A1%20AND%20itunes

The advanced search is pretty impressive too. Sometimes it takes a bit of poking around to find an old post. If you remember the name of someone who started or posted in the thread you can search through the list of their posts.
